The Journey

 With 2010 coming to an end and 2011 mere hours away I though it would be a good time to sit back and reflect on a journey that I began and seems to have taken off this year. A little recap first thought.

I was 16 when my first true exposure to BDSM happened. I was watching La Blue Girl episode 6 and close to the end of the episode. If I remember correctly it was a basic whipping scene but something clicked inside my head. From that point on I looked for any source I could find that would either give me more knowledge or more visuals on the subject. Luckily I had the interenetdial up mind you and proceeded to look for the required knowledge. I came across www.sandm.com back when it was run by a master and his slave and was once again taken by the world I had found. For the next few years all I did within this world was study it and learn about it. Little did I know at that time that in 8 years I would truly start exploring the world that would one day become my lifestyle.

Enter the age 24, I was a few years divorced and still trying to get through it. I was at an anime convention called Animazement when I meet the woman that in my honest opinion would remind me of what I had wanted to be and I saw that she held the key. I won't name any names as I am unsure weather she wishes to be named here but know that she is a very important part of this journey that I have embarked on. I believe it was a few months after meeting her I asked her to take me on as her apprentice in order for me to learn how to be a proper dom. She happily agreed and what I viewed as part one of my journey into joining the lifestyle had been achieved. My feet had been dipped into the water.

We will skip all the details but needless to say I learned alot from her teachings and am still learning to this day from her. I moved to DC in 2006 and once again had to slowly learn where the to find things pertaining to the lifestyle in this area were. I had heard rumors of Bound and The Crucible but never actually made it to them. Well not until 2007 that is which is when I went to the Crucible for the first time. Watching everything that happened that night I was in a trance. Everything was so wonderful to be watching and yet it all felt right. This is were I wanted to be, unfortunately I didn't go back for a few years as at this point I had not found any other events to go to in DC and the Crucible was not something I cared to go to alone this would change in the future however I felt at that time the journey was paused and I had to once again rediscover my love in the DC area for this lifestyle.

2008 went by with only talks to my Head Mistress and I played with a friend who hadn't done anything lifestyle wise in awhile but in 2009 three big things happened for me that I felt jump started the journey once again and that was I went to Fetishcon, attended my first play party, and I collared my first slave. By the end of the year I had also attended Bound and been told about Rapture. I should note that after Fetishcon I had joined Fetlife and had started to discover more and more people in the area. With 2009 over and my confidence back to were I needed it to be confidence killed by the divorce I at the insistence of my Head Mistress attended my first munch in Woodbridge and had an amazing time. From there I started attending other munches such as the Manassas and Fairfax munch and even attended a few play parties.

2010 would continue to be a huge year for my growth as the munches and play parties lead me to return to the Crucible and become a Member as well as join British Lucky Paul's Dungeon. Another note I feel I should add is that I also found several play partners and a few new slaves as well and also began teaching other doms as well as concealing couples who are looking to have a bit of kink in their lives. I attended the munches up in Rockville and even attempted to get munches together for several anime conventions. Another great thing was I found others to teach me in needle play, shibari, and electricity. All of which I am looking forward to learning more and more about. Rapture also welcomed me in with open arms and I must say I have greatly enjoyed their parties and company. The final event I went to this year was TNG Baltimore and I must say it was a blast and I look forward to attending again.

So were does this leave me? There is so much still to learn and so many that still want to be taught. My journey is far from over and honestly I hope it will never end. I look forward to returning to event and munches I have already attended and even more to attending new events and muches. I look forward to the new friends I will make along the way and am grateful for the ones that I have already had the pleasure of meeting.
