Interview with Princess Kali, Domme, Sex Educator & Savvy Business Woman

So how did you get started out in the adult industry to begin with --
were you a pro-Domme first? Or fetish video star?
Actually I started in the adult industry as a stripper when I was 20
years old. I did bachelor parties and was incredibly *strict*, but
loved dancing and showing off my sexiness to such an enthusiastic
audience! When I discovered professional domination 2 years later I
realized that was a much more appropriate part of the industry for me.
Around the same time I started shooting fetish videos for other sites
(such as MenInPain.com, WhippedAss.com and many others) and then
started my own personal site in 2003.

And you've kind of phased out of that, correct?
When I moved out of my last dungeon in Boston, I decided to focus
almost all of my attention on my current projects and have definitely
cut way back on Pro-Domme sessions. I have a wonderful stable of
devoted submissives, and occasionally accept new applicants if I feel
they are VERY suited to My style (which tends to be much more personal
and based on a devolved relationship of trust and genuine submission).
Those that are more interested in a one-off session or a superficial
experience don’t get the privilege of my attention *wink*

So then you started KinkAcademy.com. First, what IS Kink Academy?
Kink Academy is a website that features 4 video updates a week
covering all kinds of topics regarding sexuality, relationships,
communication and gender. We have also created some unique products
and do live events, but the website is our main focus.

How did you realize there was a need for this kind of educational material?
From my own desire for a resource like this, and from talking with
people who were frustrated by having to go to events and scheduled
classes in order learn these kinds of skills. The site is great for
those who are not able to attend events at all (so that they have
access to all these amazing educators) and is also useful for people
to *do* go to events, but would like a supplemental way of learning.

How old is Kink Academy now?
We launched the website in September 2009, although I had designed the
logo and started promoting Kink Academy as an education brand in 2007.
And I’ve been in the adult industry for more than 10 years now, so I
bring a lot of that experience and community connection to the site.

Who teaches there -- a large staff, or just a few?
We have a growing faculty, I think the tally right now is close to 50
educators and we have a few new planned for the coming months. Kink
Academy is proud to offer a wide range of perspectives so we’re always
looking for new experienced teachers to add to the site.

Do you personally teach some of the classes? Which ones?
I do personally teach about a variety of topics: spanking, trampling,
caning, long distance play, creative scenes, pacing a scene and lots
more. And I’ve got lots more to come!

What kind of classes do you have? Are they oriented for lifestylers, or professional kinksters?
Kink Academy is designed for anyone from a beginner to advanced, both
lifestyle or professional. It’s more based on your desire to learn,
rather than why you want to learn.

Is it pay per view educational video, or do you offer a "tuition" for all
of the content?
KinkAcademy.com is a membership site with a single fee which gives
access to the entire site with the full archive of information (around
400 clips currently). We never take down information, so all of the
clips are ALWAYS streaming on-demand.

Your new project, Fearless Press -- can you tell us a bit about that?
We are very excited to have launched FearlessPress.com in September of
this year, and so far it’s getting rave reviews. The site is a text
based, magazine style, intelligent discussion of the intersection of
sexuality and other aspects of our life. It includes monthly articles
about a variety of relationship structures, spirituality, style, arts,
community, health and more.

Is Fearless Press attached to Kink Academy, or a totally separate project?
Well, it is a separate site, but it is part of the Kink Academy family
of websites. As a company we want to provide different kinds of
resources regarding sexuality.

Is Fearless Press totally free, or do you have to pay for some of the content?
FearlessPress.com is totally free, no payment needed for any content!

We saw that you have a Youtube channel for Kink Academy, what kind of videos can one find there?
Right now we have some fun promotional type clips, kind of like
fun/funny little commercials for the site. We’ll be adding more clips
of vendors and some of our health videos as well in the near future.

And you have a Facebook page for Kink Academy. Do you
have a page for Fearless Press, too? What kind of posts do you make?
We do also have a Facebook page for FearlessPress, just search and
you’ll find us. We post about our site updates and events, and what
our awesome faculty is doing. Friend Us and you’ll see more!

Anything exciting coming in the future you'd like to share?
We definitely have some exciting stuff coming up! In December we’ll be
doing a re-design of KinkAcademy.com which will give it a whole new
look and some fantastic new features. We also have another site
brewing, but I can’t share to much right now….don’t want to spoil the
surprise!!
